Hello everyone! My name is Makoto Ikegami. I am originally from Japan. Currently, I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the USA and work at a Deaf Services Center as an intensive case manager. My job responsibilities are to assist mentally-challenged people in maintaining their stability and improving their independent life skills. While my position as the intensive case manager can be physically and mentally demanding and challenging, my clients’ appreciation of my service is very rewarding for me.

I graduated from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and then received a Master’s degree in Social Work from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. in 2009. I like to place myself in a situation where I am able to foster my professional development as well as personal growth. I spend my spare time in chatting with my friends, meeting new people who have different cultures and experiences, playing volleyball and tennis, cooking, reading, cleaning, and shopping.
